The name Ensorcell is an intentional play on words. Taken from an archaic lexicon, it means “to fascinate, enchant, or captivate.” That is exactly what we want to do for our customers: delight both with innovation in life science tools and with the value we provide. Our pledge is to reimagine life science tools in better and easier-to-use formats that are also less expensive. We want to help make scientific pursuits more accessible to more people and do our part to lower the price of medical care.
At Ensorcell, we have a unique approach, thanks to our relationship with Re:Build Manufacturing. We have access to dozens of highly skilled and seasoned engineers, many of whom have deep experience in designing and developing life science and biomedical products. We can also leverage the Re:Build manufacturing sites and infrastructure for immediate access to operational excellence, without the significant investments that are typically required in this industry. The result is that we can design and deliver innovative products with much lower overhead than other start-ups, and we pass those savings on to our customers and clients.
As we evaluate a new product concept, we ask: What tools have areas for improvement or are challenging to use? How can we solve this problem? How can we improve the technology that exists today? And how can we design for efficient, cost-effective manufacturing from the start?
High quality and reliable tools are our foundation
Life scientists are some of the most intrepid and innovative people in the world. We benefit from their ingenuity every day via the medicines and devices that diagnose and treat our diseases and keep us healthy. But scientists are also consumers who associate brands with experimental outcomes. If a failed experiment or bioprocess batch results from a faulty product, that brand loses trust immediately. Conversely, reliable tools earn lasting loyalty.
Scientists develop strong relationships with their tools. If you have never been in their shoes, you might be surprised by the emotional connection they form with the products they use, whether it is a simple pipette or a complex instrument.
Our approach in action: the Versaweld Tube Welder
Tube welders may not be the first thing you think of in a bioprocess lab, but they are a critical instrument for sterile fluid handling throughout manufacturing. Our Versaweld product exemplifies our philosophy for meaningful innovation. We have eliminated adapter changes with our patented selector wheel and made the unit lightweight and battery-powered, so it is both portable and able to fit into tight spaces. This eliminates unwieldy carts, fumbling around for an electrical outlet, or hunting for lost adapters.
We have added a high-resolution touchscreen interface alongside a tube diameter identification system that ensures perfect welds every time, across a wide range of materials and sizes. And finally, our one-click installation cassette with its spooling ribbon cutting tool enables low-cost welds, free of contamination, and is simple and fast to replace, with no sharps for disposal.
